Our Philosophy

Our MISSION at Rocky Mountain Photo Adventures is to combine top-notch instruction with fun-filled, once-in-a-lifetime adventures overflowing with unmatched photo opportunities.

Our ALUMNI includes people from all walks of life...college students and business owners to homemakers, retirees, and CEOs. Skill levels range from aspiring beginners to seasoned professionals. Small group size allows us to provide personalized instruction for all.

Our PROGRAMS are designed by photographers, led by photographers, and conducted with you, the photographer, in mind. Unlike other tour companies that includes photography as part of their activities, we are committed to in-depth photo exploration of our wild brothers and sisters along with the wild places they inhabit. It's true when we say that we offer. . . The World's Greatest Photo Adventuress.

The Power of Photography

Many of our wild brothers and sisters are facing extinction. That we know. But, what about those animals needlessly dying at this very moment.

Gorillas are still being slaughtered in Africa. Whales continue to be killed for profit, as are many species of bear, including polar bears. Elephants, lions, tigers . . . the list goes on.

A carefully chosen photograph can enlighten society and change the way it views an issue.

As nature photographers, we have a responsibility to use our images to protect the biodiversity of our planet and the integrity of its natural ecosystems.

Put together a PowerPoint, or Keynote presentation, and take it before various organizations and school groups. While that may not seem like much, never underestimate the power of photography; and perhaps, a few carefully chosen words.

Together, we can make a difference!

My Personal Philosophy

The following words of wisdom pretty much sums up my philosophy regarding nature and the spirit world. My desire is to instill in others the deep appreciation and love that I have for our wild brothers and sisters and the need to protect them now as never before. That is the underlying goal of every workshop, seminar, and speaking engagement.

                                                                                 — Weldon Lee

If you talk to the Animals, they will talk with you. And you will know each other.

If you do not talk to them, you will not know them.

And what you do not know you will fear, What one fears - One destroys.

— Chief Dan George

Rise free from care before the dawn, and seek adventures.

Let the noon find thee by other lakes, and night overtake thee everywhere at home.

There are no larger fields than these, no worthier games than may here be played.

Henry David Thoreau, Walden

I used to envy the father of our race,

dwelling as he did in contact with the new-made fields and plants of Eden;

but I do so no more, because I have discovered that I also live in “creation’s dawn.”

The morning stars still sing together, and the world, not yet half made,

becomes more beautiful every day.

 — John Muir

In wildness is the preservation of the world.

— Henry David Thoreau

You are never given a dream without the power to make it happen.

—Richard Bach, American writer

I believe there is a force in this world that lives beneath the surface;

something primitive and wild that awakens when we need an extra push just to survive;

like wildflowers that bloom after a fire turns the forest black.

— from the movie, Flicka

The love for all living creatures is the noblest attribute of man.

— Charles Darwin
